Bridge School offers Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) with specialisations in Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Operations and Technology.
The program is of one year duration, comprising of twelve courses of four weeks each. The program is divided in Core and Specialisation modules. Core module consists of eight courses and each specialization module consists of four specialization courses. Business Communication and Personality Development course is a seven month workshop based course which focuses on developing soft skills in students. Industry project (Project Work) is done alongside elective courses for four months.
BRIDGE provides its students with a solid foundation of key management concepts and disciplines. Core courses are compulsory for all students and concentrate on the range of knowledge and skills required of all successful corporate executives and managers.
Human Resource Management
This course is designed to provide an understanding of expanded and strategic role of Human Resource Managers in a globalised and competitive business environment. The course will also help students to gain an insight into the individual, team and organisational processes towards developing high-performing firms. They will build an understanding of self, attitudes, motivation, teams, organizational structure, leadership styles and role of leader in managing change. The course also focuses on the significance of aligning HR strategy with business strategy.
This course is designed to give students an opportunity to integrate management concepts and practices with contemporary business strategies. The course places special emphasis on business ethics, sustainability, innovation, and the legal environment of business. During the duration of this course, you will discuss theories of strategic management and focus on improving your decision-making and problem-solving skills.
The course establishes the linkage between strategy and marketing and prepares students to develop an effective marketing plan and then execute the marketing plan to deliver value to the customers and profits to the company. The course makes students understand the unmet and under-met customer needs, how to segment customers on the basis of their needs, select the target customer segment, develop value proposition for the target segment and the business model required to deliver the value proposition. The course will guide the students to develop a market offering; to turn the market offering to a brand; and pricing the market offering. Students will also understand how to establish an appropriate sales organisation and distribution system, and build excellent customer relating capabilities to deliver the market offering to the target customers. They will also be exposed to the challenges in managing the market in the long term with the objective to create sustainable value for the customers and profit for the company.
Accounting for Business Decisions
The course describes the financial accounting system and covers steps on how to generate financial reports. This course also equips students to read and interpret data present in the balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flow, and statements of retained earnings. The course concentrates on understanding accounting statements, their analysis and how financial information is used for decision making and planning.
Statistics for Managerial Decisions
This course surveys descriptive statistics with emphasis on practical applications of statistical analysis. It examines the role of statistics in research, statistical terminology, the appropriate use of statistical techniques, and interpretation of statistical findings in business and business research. This course will help students in collecting data, analysing it, and also in inferring conclusions based on data.
The course aims to equip students with skills to analyse the economic environments in which business entities operate and understand how managerial decisions can vary under different environments. Students will be able to apply the concepts of supply and demand, equilibrium, and the factors that shift supply and demand to analyse the behavior of real markets when conditions change.
The focus will be on analysing the functioning of markets, the economic behavior of firms, and other economic agents and their implications. The course will focus both on theory and applications.
The course introduces the significant concepts, standards and tools of corporate finance and surveys all the essential aspects of financial management. The course covers topics related to sources of finance (long and short term funds), time value of money, capital budgeting process and risk and return in capital budgeting process. Other topics include cost of capital, working capital management and forecasting. The students will learn about the concepts related to business valuation along with effective and proper use of financial resources at their workplaces. The course will also enable them to integrate good financial management systems into their daily financial operations.
In this course, students will learn how to apply principles of operations and quality management for designing, planning, controlling and optimising various organisational processes.
Students will examine concepts such as enterprise resource planning, supply chain management, and Six Sigma to view quality as a systematic process that improves customer satisfaction.
Other topics in the course include process design, project implementation, capacity planning, lean production, facility location, and business forecasting.
Business Communication and Personality Development
Effective written and oral communication skills are essential to advance in a business environment. In this course, students will learn to write and present persuasively, in a way that inspires action. Students will also learn how to adapt their communication message, channel, and format – as per the needs of different audience and situations at the workplace.
The course provides hands-on exercises and simulations, discussions, demos, videos, and small group projects. Real life situations and case studies will be used across as the basis for exploring and applying communication skills.
Comprehensive Project Work
The student will work on a comprehensive industry project to apply learning from the program to a real management problem or an independent business opportunity. This module runs alongside the specialisation courses and has a total duration of four months. The project will require students to work in a team and undertake a real-life problem, break down the whole project cycle into two to three deliverables culminating in a Strategic Plan for their corporate.
Students will work closely with a Faculty Mentor and a trained Student Mentor for this course. The mentors will help students identify the problem or initiative and develop an individual plan for project deliverables and milestones. The mentors will also guide and provide feedback on student progress. The final strategic plan submitted by the student will require approval from the Program Chair before it is presented to the organisation and academic stakeholders.
